Diaspora Village

Diaspora Village (DV) is a project initiated by Lebanese Diaspora Energy with the aim to create a hub for the Lebanese Diaspora in their homeland in order to build and support a cohesive and dynamic community. Diaspora Village’s members will interact culturally, socially, educationally and economically . It will be a point of reference for any information and research on the respective Diaspora.

It is a unique place, combining activities of a museum and its library, a guest house, an indoor multipurpose hall, an outdoor square for special events, a café, a gift shop, a bakery, a studio and several houses for Diaspora of Lebanese origin around the world.

It is a place where diaspora can gather in their respective Houses to share experiences, hold events, lectures, and mostly keep the link between each other’s, their homeland, and their country of residency.

DIASPORA HOUSES

Those are multi usage renovated old houses that can host many cultural and artistic activities. They offer standard services in a comfortable setup with easy access from different sections of the village. DV reserves special rate for all Lebanese expats related to every corresponding Diaspora House.

CAFÉ DU MUSÉE

This dining outlet offers a continuous service starting with a breakfast variety (Bakery, Lebanese Specialties, Muffins…) to lunch and dinner. It will offer prepacked salads, freshly prepared sandwiches, hot food specials and line of mouthwatering desserts. This thematic restaurant will have screens on the walls displaying documents and videos related to our diaspora activities in their respective countries.

DIASPORA CAFÉ

This will be a small executive meet and great lounge area where people can gather around a coffee and a fancy bite in addition to serving tourists and visitors with snacks and drinks.

DV SQUARE

It is an outdoor large square surrounded by traditional houses, used for special occasions and various events in addition to its affiliation with the Café du Musée and Diaspora Café.

DV HALL

It’s an indoor multipurpose hall ready to welcome conferences - retreats - seminars - book signatures - exhibitions - receptions - cine clubs - theater performances ...etc.

DV BAKERY

A local well known and traditional bakery has returned to the village after leaving it for more than 140 years. It will serve all sorts of local mankouche in addition to its famous BRIOCHE.

DV STUDIO

This artistic/cultural studio will host cultural activities, musical rehearsals, International dancing classes…

DV GIFT SHOP

It’s an artisanal boutique with a variety of souvenirs, tailored DV items : embroidery, painting, bags, cussions, accessories... We are displaying: Muftah El Charq – Traditions – Rytta Tanios – Majed Tanios – Girgi Moubarak

OUR LADY SQUARE

Behind our main square lays a genuine open space embracing the old neighborhood church...An outdoor area for reception and small gatherings.

Virtual Museum

Lebanese Diaspora all over the world shared their precious unforgettable memories through their old passports, photos and various items that keep arriving to DV museum on constant base. We are displaying physical and electronic copies on our “Café du Musée” screens and floors.
